Live air cargo
Acceptance of live air cargo in the hold or in the cabin
is subject to special conditions.
The presence of live animals carried as air cargo must not
disturb or scare the passengers.
Acceptance conditions
- According to the General Conditions of carriage, the carrier is in no way responsible for incidents or accidents likely to be due to the transport of animals.
- Prohibitions or restrictions are required by some countries for the entry or transiting of live air cargo (LIVAC).
- The admittance of LIVAC is subject to the presentation of all documents required by the health authorities of the countries of departure, transit and destination.
Admittance of LIVAC in the hold
- The live animal must be necessarily placed in a container
presenting all the safety assurance:
- Sturdiness
- Water tight
- Air intake control suitable to the animal size.
- The passenger can supply the packaging provided it
has the qualities required for the animal safety and
comfort.
- The traffic stopover staff will offer a crate. This container
can be sold to passengers on a property basis.
- The container must bear an identification sticker showing
the name and address of the owner.
- A damaged container will not be accepted at check-in (tight
grip closure system in good working condition).
- The passenger will be asked to give the animal a product
against air sickness or against any other ill-timed reaction
during the flight.
- The container should be free from any hay or straw.
- The passenger must necessarily point to the fact that
he is accompanied with a live animal at the time of booking.
The price for a live animal transport in the hold compartment
is £XXX.
Acceptance of live animals in the cabin
- Pets (dogs, cats, birds) may be admitted in the cabin
under the following conditions:
- The passenger will point to the live animal at the
time of booking.
- The animal shall not weigh more 5 kg container included
(an exception to this is made for seeing eye and hearing
dogs).
- The animal must be placed in a sturdy container (box,
crate or basket), fitted with vent holes, the total
size of which must not exceed 115 cm (55 x 40 x 20 cm).
- The animal must not become a nuisance for other passengers
or for the crew.
