Special Baggage

The international legislation concerning the transport of the luggage stipulates that luggage transported by an airline company must respect the following specifications: a maximum weight of 32 kg and size lower than 203 cm (sum of the 3 dimensions).

Passenger’s attention is drawn on the fact that any luggage which does not observe these conditions will be refused at check-in.

Luggage subject to particular conditions of acceptance

A. SURFING equipment

  • This equipment is only accepted as cargo.
  • The addition of the 3 dimensions (L + W + H) should not exceed 203 cm.
  • A label "accepted with reserves" will be affixed on the equipment.

Applicable fare is of £XXX per surfboard.

B. Golf equipment

  • Golf bags are accepted on flights. However, they are transported with certain specific measures due to the handle with care nature of golf clubs.

Applicable fare is £XXX per golf bag.

C. Diving gear

  • Compressed-air cylinders are admitted onboard.
  • Pure or blended oxygen cylinders are prohibited.

The tariff applicable is £XXX.

D. Bicycles

  • Only accepted as cargo hold.
  • The pedals must be disassembled or reassembled inside.
  • The wheels can be taken down and hung at either side of the body.
  • The tires remain inflated.

The applicable fare is £XXX.

E. Gasoline engine

  • Lightweight motorcycles, mopeds, mobile generating sets along with any machine comprising a petrol engine are accepted onboard provided the fuel system made of:
    • Carburetor,
    • Tank
    • Pump and
    • Fuel line
    is completely dry. Any part which is not dry will not be accepted at check-in.

The fare applicable will be the same as excess baggage.

D. Edible oil

The transport of the edible oil is very dangerous, because of the often inevitable seepages and the non trivial fire hazards.

The transport of oil both as cargo and upper cargo compartment on board Atlas-blue flights is PROHIBITED.

E. Television sets

  • The transport of the bare television sets is prohibited, regardless of dimensions.
  • The original package is mandatory.
  • TV sets are not accepted in the cabin. When shipped as cargo, they will have the word "accepted with reserves" written on them.

The fare applicable will be the same as excess baggage.

F. Weapons and ammunition

The shotguns, guns and revolvers intended for sports competitions are not allowed in the cabin, but only as hold baggage. They are transported free of charge on Atlas-blue lines.

Exception:
(Unloaded) weapons accompanying of escorts accompanying deportees or expellees.

Conditions of acceptance:

  • They are checked in as other compartment baggage.
  • Their weight is comprised in the passenger baggage allowance.
  • The weapons are packed unloaded by licensed holders.
  • Ammunitions are given to the captain under his conditions and will be returned to their owners discreetly on arrival at the time deemed convenient by the latter (when they are destined to be unloaded at a venue located inside Morocco, ammunition will be imperatively handed to or in the presence of representatives from the National Security Department).
  • The Captain is informed by NOTOC (Notification to Captain) of any loading on board of weapons and munitions of war whose presence must be announced to the competent authorities which will be requested by the Captain to supervise loading and unloading of arms.
  • Their acceptance is subject to the rules of admission of the countries of origin, transit and destination (refer to TIM).
  • Acceptance of arms in cargo is subject to the rules described in the table below:

ONLY CLASSIFIED CARTRIDGES The cartridges must be wedged inside each package so that they do not knock together.
SAFETY AMMUNITIONS The acceptance of bulk ammunitions or weapons in any other packaging form than those required is PROHIBITED.

G. Battery-operated wheelchairs

Electric wheelchairs are powered with a storage battery able to contain a HIGHLY corrosive liquid (electrolyte) and hence dangerous for the aircraft structure.

Conditions of acceptance:

  • The storage battery must be secured to the wheelchair.
  • The 2 storage battery terminals must be disconnected, and insulated with tape.
  • Labels will be affixed on each side of the chair.
  • The chair must be loaded in upright position in order to avoid any risk of accidental flow of the electrolyte fluid in the hold or another container.
  • The wheelchair will be loaded at the entrance of the hold in order to allow the fast delivery thereof on arrival.

The fare applicable will be the same as excess baggage.

J. Luggage handed at the foot of the aircraft

Certain luggage not allowed in the cabin and useful to passengers until boarding is handed in at boarding such as strollers, prams, wheelchairs. etc.

This luggage must be specifically labeled and are brought to the foot of the plane to be loaded in such a position as to make them easily accessible and delivered to passengers upon arrival immediately after disembarkation.
